MotMaison is a 2D point-and-click educational video game that consists of exploring and completing household tasks in different rooms while reviewing useful everyday French vocabulary. There were two main objectives of this project: to learn how to design, plan, and code a video game on my own, thus gaining independence and knowledge for future projects, and to create an enjoyable and effective learning tool for studying French. It also served as an exercise in combining disciplines, balancing the tasks of designing and drawing the art for each screen, coding the mechanics of the game using the game engine Godot and the programming language C#, and using knowledge of the French language to implement the elements of vocabulary learning. This project serves as the beginning of an exploration into the potential of video games as effective educational tools and the development process of these educational video games.
