A method for determining the diffusivity of various aerogels has been developed and refined. The diffusivity of an aerogel is a physical property that characterizes the manner in which gases move through the aerogel material, and is an important material property for calculations in various design applications. The possible effect of gas adsorption on the measured diffusivity was also investigated, and a model was built to correct for error caused by adsorbed gas violating the simpler, non-adsorbing, assumption made in earlier versions of the model.
