Story Presentation: "Sunny Side Up"

Often, we are quick to remember our most meaningful moments as times of warmth we look back on with fondness. Less commonly shared are the meaningful moments of discomfort and failure that propel us forward. “Sunny Side Up” is a piece from my larger collection, titled Sunny Side Up & Other Stories. My collection explores the inevitable fear—and thrilling uncertainty—of starting over to follow one’s passions. Key themes include optimism amidst the obstacles of growing up as a first generation college student and Chinese immigrant, and perhaps most importantly, the triumph of committing to a creative and meaningful life. This presentation is in conjunction with “The Power of Reflection: Stories of U.”
