Marine Mammal Protection and Regulations

Marine mammals are important to the health and balance of the marine ecosystem. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the threats to the survival of marine mammals and the policies that have been developed to protect them. A questionnaire was sent to two government managers and two members of marine mammal protection private non-profit organizations. The questionnaires represent an exploratory investigation into the effectiveness and enforcement of marine mammal regulations. The strengths and weaknesses of the regulations are discussed and policy recommendations are made.
