The Latin American Psyche: How Political Instability Affects Mental and Emotional Health in Bolivia

My research will focus on the country of Bolivia and the recent elections held in 2020. They were troublesome with claims of fraud, interferences, and were heavily protested around the country. My focus will be on the affect of such turbulent circumstances on the mental and emotional health of the citizens. I will be looking at how these kinds of situations, in which political instability is very prevalent in a country, takes a toll on mental wellbeing, and what particular effects those circumstances lead to in terms of mental health. I will also be looking into the emotional costs, and if/how people's emotions are affected by political instability in the short or long term.
