Lower body injuries are particularly common in athletes who play field sports. Hamstring strains and tears account for a high percentage of those injuries. US Lacrosse recognized this trend and developed a program in conjunction with MedStar Sports Medicine, called LaxPrep, that intends to reduce the frequency of these injuries. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of LaxPrep. Participants were randomly placed into three groups: control, flexibility, and flexibility+strength. Over the course of four weeks, participants in the latter two groups performed a series of exercises from LaxPrep three times each week. Data from before and after the study were collected to be analyzed and compared. The results of the study will be presented to determine if there is a significant difference between the groups that performed the exercises versus the control group.
