Pratham Education Foundation is a non- profit dedicated to improving the quality of education in India. The non- profit focuses on providing high quality education at low cost to youth who have fallen through gaps in the education system. To provide the highest quality of education, Pratham has implemented specific instructional practices which are designed to maximize learning in short periods of time. Some elements of these educational practices include setting achievable goals on an individual student basis, grouping children by learning level instead of age, running interactive educational activities, and using measurements to track progress. Studies done by organizations such as The Poverty Lab have shown that these teaching methods are highly effective. Through ethnographic research at Pratham Centers in Jaipur India, I have observed these teaching practices. This study looks at the quality of education at Pratham Jaipur Centers, and implementation of teaching methods in these centers.
