Amy was a Minerva Fellow partnered with Engeye Health Clinic in Ddegeya Village, Uganda. Here, she worked on public health initiatives, established a computer skills workshop for local students, engaged with entrepreneurial opportunities for women, and immersed herself in the community. Engeye aims to “Live in Good Health Together”, utilizing the social determinants of health as a model to address community issues of equality and accessibility to necessities such as healthcare, sanitation, and water. Amy will be sharing her personal experiences living in Ddegeya and volunteering with Engeye. The general focus will surround global health and development in resource limited contexts.
