Lobbying at the state level is a complex process with many moving pieces. This research project focuses on several important techniques utilized by interest groups and lobbying firms while testing their efficiency and success rates. Also the project conducts a case study of the lobbying efforts on Bill A7188 from the New York State Assembly last year. This bill proposed the potential sale of alcohol in movie theaters which ended up not passing through the Assembly. Lobbying efforts on both sides were made to influence legislators and further analysis shows which of these efforts made the difference to ensure bill A7188 wasn't enacted.
