Argentinian Law & Human Rights

The presentation explores my time in Cordoba, Argentina as a Klemm Fellow and the multifaceted things I learned throughout the duration of my internship there. In Argentina I worked alongside a local lawyer to provide services to marginalized groups in Argentinian society, with a special emphasis on women in juvenile correctional facilities and the large homeless population. My Klemm fellowship in Argentina exposed me to the various groups that have been persecuted or faced oppression in Argentine history, examining the previous dictatorship and its human right abuses. Working with Fundacion Si and reencontrate, I provided english lessons to homeless people and provided meals for them on various days of the week, fostering a human connection with them that is often lost in ones homeless statues and the outside worlds perception of them. Through my presentation I will describe the impact that my Klemm Fellowship has had on my perception of the world around me and what i learned during my amazing internship abroad!
