In my thesis, I studied the feminist's perspective of Grimm Fairy Tales. I am interested in how these old stories compare to modern gender roles and feminism. Most of my pieces illustrate the underlying sexism and objectification. Each group of prints represent a whole story, and its remark on feminism. The text incorporated with my images demonstrates my own interpretations of the stories. I found that many modern feminist issues are embedded in many of the folklore values. Objectification, domestication, and virginity are just some examples of the principles conveyed in these stories. My work's style is mainly inspired by the German Expressionists of the early 20th century. Kirchner and Kandinsky's graphic aesthetic coincide with my folklore theme.
