Women's Health and Alternative Medicine

As part of the Seward Fellows Program, I have conducted personal research on and held campus-wide events to bring awareness to women’s health related issues and alternative medicine options. These events have included 1) acupuncture in relation to women’s health, 2) breastfeeding and infant mortality, and 3) basic herbal medical treatments. This will be an interactive presentation where attendees will be able to anonymously respond to discussion points related to these topics, which will be followed by a series of pros and cons regarding different practices. Topics include acupuncture, chiropractic, nutrition, and herbal treatments and how these relate to breastfeeding, menstruation, and infertility.
