Political Alienation in the United States: Race, Class, and Voter Turnout

For my presentation I plan to orally present how race and class dynamics work to disenchant people from American politics. I will also present how those dynamics influence overall national voter turnout over the period of 1940-2016. My work adds valuable insights to the discourse of voter turnout, while also adding an interesting perspective that could potentially explain how the 2016 election recorded high turnout levels despite a polarized political environment.
