Argentina is a country of social movements fighting for change everyday. Some groups fight for change in the economy and in politics, and others fight for change for women’s rights. Based on my personal experience in Buenos Aires, I examine the impact of social movements for women and the LGBTQIA+ community, such as Las Madres y Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo, the Ni Una Menos movement, and the Comunidad Homosexual Argentina (CHA). These are only a select few of many organizations that have experienced “advances and fallbacks to the laws and rights'' granted by the Argentine government, yet nonetheless, have created impactful change throughout the country and abroad.
