I stayed in Fiji for three weeks with an iTaukei host family, volunteering/interning with Projects Abroad Fiji office for nutrition. I went to villages and conducted workshops among both IndoFijians and iTaukei populations about diabetes, hypertension, nutrition, and exercise. Due to the dietary differences among these two groups, I learned that each group has specific health outcomes and needs. In addition, I taught schoolchildren about food groups, exercise, and hygiene. I also taught schoolchildren Zumba.
