A Personal Exploration of the Health Care and Culture of Cordoba, Argentina

I will be talking about my experience in Cordoba, Argentina. I shadowed in a pediatric hospital for three weeks and rotated among various specialties including emergency medicine, a family medicine clinic, radiology, and surgery. In my presentation, I will be talking about some of the differences I observed within the Argentinian health care system as compared with that of the U.S. For example, sanitation procedures including hand washing and glove use are less regulated in Argentina. Additionally, the medical team is utilized in a completely different way when directing the flow of patients and treating them. I will also talk about the community outreach we performed and my cultural and linguistic immersion.
