My thesis examines zero tolerance public school policies and policing in schools that have traditionally lead to the school-to-prison pipeline. I evaluate the evolution of disciplinary policies within the Schenectady and Niskayuna city schools. I conducted qualitative interviews and examined previous policy information. My finding concludes and describes how both school districts are moving toward alternative measures and away from criminalizing and punitive disciplinary measures.
