Child-birth and infant care is significantly different in Tanzania compared to the United States. Through the Klemm Fellowship, Eric Lovett Jr. and Christina Dykas embarked on a 3-week internship where they worked in a bustling hospital located in the heart of Arusha, one of the largest cities in Tanzania. Through our experiences, we were surprised at how differently Tanzania approaches childbirth and the care of infants in their first five years of life. This presentation will explore the techniques, medical personnel, patient privacy, and technology that Tanzanian’s utilize for child-birth and pediatric care.
