The Student Conference on US Affairs (SCUSA) is an annual event at West Point that examines different aspects of United States security policies. This year's SCUSA conference focused on new technologies and their kinds of influences on US domestic and international policy. The over 150 students at the conference were divided into various roundtables to discuss regional and thematic issues and to present detailed policy proposals at the end of the 3-day conference. About 2/3rds of the students were from various Universities all over the US and beyond, and the other 1/3rd were West Point cadets. Beyond the knowledge and experience gained from this intensive policy dialogue, SCUSA provided an excellent opportunity for networking among students, cadets and academic and policy experts. SCUSA allowed these diverse participants to interact and understand differing points of view and debate these in an open and exciting policy atmosphere. The knowledge gained and the relationships developed during the SCUSA conference gave participants a deeper understanding of each other and the field they intend to pursue after University.
