This presentation analyzes Black social determinants of mental health in the United States. In my community, I have witnessed first-hand public health crises like the COVID-19 pandemic and the racial reckoning of 2020 impact on mental healthcare. Leaning on secondary social science sources, this evaluation centers on the historical stigmatization of mental healthcare and limited access to culturally competent healthcare resources.
