Argentine women have historically been labeled the most beautiful women in the world. There seems to be an extreme emphasis on looks in Argentina. The culture places significance on aesthetics that stem from patriarchal, heteronormative ideals. This project investigates, from a personal perspective, how this beauty ideal is perpetuated through the media in Buenos Aires and Patagonia, and how it differs from the beauty ideal in the U.S.
