The Electric Vehicle (EV) industry continues to receive a great deal of investment from both private and public investors. I examine the record of historical recommendations for investing in this industry. Specifically, I identify companies that were recommended during 2017 to 2018 in either an investment newsletter or were part of an EV themed exchange traded fund. I ask what historical characteristics are associated with survival or subsequent growth. I will use these characteristics to make predictions about future success of companies currently operating in this industry.
